Mikami got his footing in the gaming industry with Capcom before transferring to PlatinumGames to work on Vanquish. Now, before you say that this is an unlikely trio of companies, Mikami has worked with both before. Shinji Mikami recently teased a "remake" with Capcom and PlatinumGames.

But, after his work on Ghostwire: Tokyo, Mikami's next project is unclear and that's if there's any but not for long. Most recently, Mikami founded Tango Gameworks to work on The Evil Within (2014) and The Evil Within 2 (2017), which are throwback titles to the early days of the Resident Evil franchise. Mikami's creations have spawned entire genres, which include Resident Evil, Dino Crisis, God Hand, Vanquish, and Okami. Shinji Mikami is one of the foremost figures in the gaming industry. Wouldn't it be something if Shinji Mikami was talking about the Resident Evil 4 remake?

If not Resident Evil: Code Veronica, could Capcom already be preparing to release Resident Evil 8? AestheticGamer clarified that the second Resident Evil game is not Resident Evil: Resistance, which will launch alongside Resident Evil 3.It looks like Shinji Mikami already has his eyes set on a new project after Ghostwire: Tokyo.

AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem March 1, 2020 There's also a fifth medium game but not on the same scale as the other four releases. Capcom's fiscal 2020 year is very impressive, there's four big titles they're releasing, including two RE games (one is RE3). One last Capcom tweet then I'll go silent until April.
Dino crisis remake 2021 series#
It was expected to be Capcom’s next remake project, but if the report is true, that is not the case.ĪestheticGamer, however, claims that Resident Evil 3 will not be the only game in the series that will release within Capcom’s fiscal year 2020. The game is the fourth major installment in the franchise, with events that take place after Resident Evil 2 and concurrently with Resident Evil 3. In addition to the Dino Crisis cancellation, AestheticGamer also claimed that a remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica is not currently even in pre-production. However, with the success of the Resident Evil 2 remake, and if the Resident Evil 3 remake is received well as expected, there is always a possibility that Capcom may look at Dino Crisis as another franchise worth reviving, even if that may be years down the line. However, with the declaration that the franchise is “extinct,” it appears that fans have nothing to look forward to for now if the report is true. AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem February 29, 2020ĪestheticGamer, an insider known for his scoops on Capcom games, does not divulge further details on the canceled Dino Crisis game, such as whether it was a remake of the 1999 classic or a continuation of the series into the current generation of consoles, or the reason for the cancellation. A Dino Crisis game actually was started a few years ago, but then scrapped and buried, and the franchise for now is still extinct for the time being. Code Veronica remake is not in production right now, not even pre-production. Capcom is said to have started the project, but unfortunately, it is no longer in the developer’s plans, according to AestheticGamer. Fans of Dino Crisis have clamored for the game to receive the same remake treatment as the wildly successful Resident Evil 2and the highly anticipated Resident Evil 3.
